Finally……

….we have taken more photos of Kamryn! We had a few great ideas but she was having an ‘off’ day No matter, we still captured some great portraits! 

Every year our yard starts out as a field of dandelions. It only lasts for a few weeks so we let the grass (aka dandelions) get really long so we could use them for her portraits. In this process we learned a few things that we can’t wait to try next year. Enjoy the photos!

 

We also want to share a few recent (and favorite) newborn portraits. This session was fantastic and we captured so many moments that we just love. Hope you enjoy!

2009 Women’s Affair

We want to thank everyone for coming out to see us this past weekend at the Carlson Center. We really enjoy being at the Women’s Affair every year and getting to see so many people. This year we were able to show some brand new things. The ‘4 Ply Canvas Panel’ was a huge hit. Of course, we love it since they are portraits of Kamryn! Our new albums were also getting a lot of attention. Everyone must have enjoyed them because they are covered in finger prints!

I also received an amazing compliment yesterday. A man came up to me an introduced himself as someone who has a degree in fine arts. His definition of a great piece of art is something that catches your eye, draws you in and then rewards you while you take in all the details and aspects of the piece. I had a 30 inch canvas wrap of a baby on our wall. He said that piece gave him that reward. I replied with a very humble “Thank you very much”. Actually, I think I said that 3 or 4 times!

January 2009 Promotions and News!

 

Hey there! We hope you’re surviving our recent cold spell. Just think…..these temperatures mean we are one step closer to summer Fishing, hunting, biking, hiking, camping, swimming and any other thing that ends in “ing”!

Before we get into the good stuff I want to encourage everyone to visit our BLOG. We regularly update the BLOG so you can stay up to date with what we are doing. This is the time of year we begin to introduce new products, experiment with new techniques, revamp our packages if needed and work on some new ideas. There are often times fee changes involved in this process. While we don’t foresee any major changes we still wanted to give everyone a chance to benefit from our current structure.

First, our ‘Sweetheart Sessions’. These sessions are designed with couples and/or individuals in mind. The ‘Wall Print Package’ is oriented towards couples. This includes your session fee and an 11×14 wall print. Of course, there are discounted rates on larger sizes as well. Depending on your wall space we have some terrific upgrade fees to 16×20 and 20×24.

This is also the time of year we begin getting calls from ladies who are interested in giving their loved one a more personal gift for Valentine’s Day. The ‘Album Package’ is is oriented towards the intimate gift sessions. Again, your session fee is included as well as a custom leather 4×5 album with 10 prints. You even get to benefit from upgrading to 20 prints for only $55.00! We offer (but don’t mandate) FREE consultations for all sessions and encourage them for intimate sessions. Either way, we are happy to discuss any of your thoughts and ideas over the phone. 

This month we are also having our 1st annual 3 6 9 promotion. It’s this easy……

All orders over $300.00 receive a 10% discount

All orders over $600.00 receive a 15% discount

All orders over $900.00 receive a 20% discount

These are huge savings! All portraits sessions must be done before January 31, 2009 to benefit from this promotion. If we have recently done a portrait session for you and you want to order more you can benefit from this promotion as well.

I can’t believe how fast this year has gone. Last year at this time Tanja was pregnant and we were wondering how our life would change after the baby was born. Now, she is about to have her first birthday (12.31.08). It has been one heck of a year. A lot of work, a little traveling, a tiny bit of stress and tons of fun! Every day brings something new these days. Small words, new sounds, funny antics and precious smiles. We thought the first time she crawled across the floor was amazing. Now she’s walking like a champ and giving us a run for our money! Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings…..

No matter how many photos we take of her it always feels like we should take more. A few of our favorites from this past year are below. Please feel free to let us know what you think……as long as you say nice things ))

We started a series comparing body parts to fruits and veggies. It was really fun (and funny) but we never finished. A few favorites though….

 

Somehow Kamryn has acquired a huge collection of hats. We thought it would be cool to capture her in each one! Well, we have dozens of portraits with different hats. It’s better than shoes I guess. I imagine that will come later though

I believe this day was one of her first experiences in grass and bare feet. She hated it! Although she didn’t think it was much fun Tanja and I got a good laugh.

We had some really great clients bring this old navy chest/foot locker in to use in their portraits. They were kind enough to let us borrow it for a few days so we could use in in Kamryn’s photos. We love this series.

Our most recent photos. These last few were all taken the week of December 2008. She’s really starting to take a liking to the camera. We can’t wait to see her with her first birthday cake in 2 weeks! Those photos will definitely make it up here. 

Last but not least…..Tanja, Kamryn and I. As it turns out it is tough setting the timer on the camera, running around to get in the photo, look perfect, smile and get an 11 month old to look straight ahead and smile. Anyway, this is what we got. They say, even doctors need to go to the doctor. Maybe we need to go to a photographer

December News…..

Hey there! I know it’s been awhile since our last post. I could give you the “things have been busy” speech but you may be expecting that Instead, I will tell you that we have been having a blast creating portraits for many happy people! 

Tanja and I are planning to take some new portraits of Kamryn tomorrow so hopefully we will get some new stuff of her up here soon. She has changed so much since most of you have seen her last. We’re not sure what’s bigger…..her desire to not sleep or her attitude when she doesn’t get her way! The 3 of us are having fun figuring it out though  

The photos below are from numerous portrait sessions (obviously!). I just wanted to share some new things with you while we are working through the season. There will certainly be more to follow before the end of the year. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.

Mother’s Day

Last weekend was another “first” for us. Of course, it was Mother’s Day! Now that Tanja is a Mom she has another reason to be pampered (and, so, she was!). We woke up Sunday morning and Tanja found a card from Kamryn. Apparently while we were sleeping Kamryn took the car, went to the store and got Mom a card. Once she got back home she found some crayons and wrote all kinds of nice stuff. One thing she did was promise to cook Mom breakfast but since she was too short to reach the stove she said Dad would cook for her! Naturally I thanked her….then cooked breakfast

We made our way to Creamer’s Field for a nice long walk. The place was packed and we ran into a lot of people we know. It was fun and nice to be outside. All in all it was a quiet, relaxing and enjoyable day. We just so happened to have a camera with us and took tons of photos. Below are a few of my favorites from the afternoon. Meet Ashley

Last summer I had the pleasure of photographing Ashley for the first time. We captured some fantastic studio and outdoor portraits and had a great time in the process. We were lucky enough to have her back in the studio a week or 2 ago. I’m finally getting the images done and up here for you to see. Of course, these are only a few of my favorites.

Father-n-Daughter

Back by popular demand. We receive constant requests for more photos of our daughter Kamryn. We were waiting until she was able to sit up on her own but with all the requests we felt the need to capture something sooner. Now, I know what you’re thinking……where’s Tanja? Well, she is the mastermind behind the camera! I promise the next set of portraits will show her too

Waiting……

Have I mentioned that I have the greatest job in the world? Day after day we get to meet fantastic people and create amazing images. I shot this photo session last week and just love these images. We have really been lucky to have so many women volunteer to model for us lately. I don’t think any of them have had any real time in front of a camera and based on their images you would never know!

I have been working on the details for a new project that I want to do this year. It’s too early to mention details but keep your ears open because I will have an announcement soon. I have had some inspiration recently and think you will all love this new idea!

Beauty and Honor!

I know I have said it before but here it goes again…..I have the best job in the world! Not a day goes by that I don’t have fun and today was no exception. Yes, another new model and yes….Wow! I never imagined when I put a bulletin out on Myspace looking for volunteer models that I would get such wonderful results. I have been able to meet new and seriously fun individuals. I can’t wait for more!

Jennifer showed up today ready to go with a bag full of clothes and a mind full of ideas. It was another 3+ hours in the studio but below you can see what her tireless efforts helped accomplish. Thank you for your hard work and willing personality Jennifer! I look forward to doing this again.

…..Meet Krystal

Hello again! We have been having a blast around here and today was no exception. Although we just met, Krystal and I spent 3 hours in the studio this afternoon. Almost all of our ideas were a success and we captured some amazing images. The session began pretty typical…..a lot of talking to get to know each other and figure out what we want to do. I kept the lights moving, and the backgrounds changing while she did her thing……look good and have fun doing it!

Out for a stroll

So we wake up today and it’s 40 degrees! We get bundled up and head to Creamer’s Field where we figure we’ll take Kamryn out of the house and get some fresh air. Once we get there we see it’s only 30 degrees….a bit cold to take a 7 week old girl on a walk. We make our way back to the house and take a walk from here. She slept the entire walk! Along the way we grabbed a few photos for fun. Enjoy and we’ll see you again soon!

New look for 2008!

Hey there! We hope the new year has been treating you well. Our year has been exciting to say the least. We talk to many of you on a regular basis so you know what we have been up to. However, some of you may need to be brought up to date.
Our daughter, Kamryn, was born December 31, 2007. Nothing has been the same since! Not only has she changed our life in general but she has brought new energy to what we do as photographers. We are extremely excited for what 2008 has in store for you (and us!). Below are a few new portraits of Kamryn and I that we took 2 days ago! Looks like Tanja is gaining some serious skills in the studio!
